The essence of quality assurance for perishable goods is a complete – and also completely documented – cold distribution chain. Even the smallest deviations from the correct temperature can have a critical impact on the quality of the goods. In order to achieve a permanently closed cold distribution chain, Meyer Logistics has standardised operating procedures and automated channels of communication. Wherever possible, the following are used: EAN Standards, RFID, temperature data-loggers with GPS connection and internet-based tracking&tracing solutions for the logging, automatic transmission and archiving of relevant product and temperature data. We use the “FleetBoard ®” and “TomTom ®” systems to achieve a complete documentation of vehicle locations and flow of goods.
